I photographed "Glenorchy Pier" on Lake Wakatipu during my fall trip to New Zealand in May of 2015. When we arrived at Lake Wakatipu until after we departed, it rained constantly. I placed my rain gear on and covered my camera and lens up with a plastic sleeve, and ventured on to the pier. I learned a lesson while photographing this pier: If you photograph in awful conditions, your image will be very different than other photographers, who only photograph during sunny weather. It turned out to be a very "moody" scene that I love the feeling of.
