Artist's Description

"Maui Sunset" was photographed about 10 miles south of Lahaina on the island of Maui. It was shot on my last day of a two week photography trip to this beautiful island. I loved this location because of the rocks that glistened in the sun as the water flowed over them. The island you see in the distance is the island of Lanai which showed up as the sun was setting behind it. The bright moon above me lighted up the waves and the distant clouds changed colors as I took this 8 second exposure. All of the elements were perfect as the waves danced around the rocks and the colors in the sunset began to scream. This image was awarded a photographic merit at the International Print Competition in Nashville, Tennessee.
