Artist's Description

I photographed "Old Orchard Beach Pier" in Maine during a Fall trip. It is located south of Portland and north of Kennebunkport. I was especially happy because as the sun was setting the tide was all the way out creating this beautiful reflection. This is a very popular summer vacation spot for tourists but when we were there in October we had the place to ourselves. I also loved the pink light that was create by the "alpenglow" which appears as a horizontal reddish glow near the horizon opposite of the sun when the solar disk is just below the horizon.
